One Day workshop on Computational Fluid Dynamics using OpenFOAM was conducted on 27th June 2019. Around 50 participants (inside and outside our college), have participated in the programme. The workshop was inaugurated by Chief Guest, Dr G. KUMARESAN, Associate Professor, Institute for Energy Studies.
A Guest lecture on the topic “All about HVAC” was organized on 12th July 2019 for the student members of ISHRAE. The guest speaker was Mr D. Balaji, HVAC project and service consultant who had immense knowledge in the field of air conditioning.
The ISHRAE student chapter of Easwari Engineering College had arranged an industrial visit to NADI Air Technics Pvt. Ltd on 13th July 2019. Twenty students of Mechanical Engineering department were permitted for the industrial visit.
A Guest lecture on the topic ‘Careers and life at Top B-Schools’ was organized for third-year mechanical students on 16th July 2019 and for final year students on 23rd July 2019. Mr Sathish Kumar, IMS consulting services, who had immense knowledge in the field of career development.
Board of Studies Meeting (2019–2020) conducted on 19.07.2019 Expert members from Anna University, Pondicherry University, Annamalai University, Ashok Leyland and Siemens Gamesa has taken part in the meeting on 19th July 2019.
The ISHRAE student chapter of Easwari Engineering College organized a Technical talk programme on "Chilled water system - selection philosophies and unlock the value of IoT for smart buildings and cities" for the members of ISHRAE on 10th August 2019.
Department of Mechanical Engineering, Easwari Engineering College, conducted a Faculty Development Program on Engineering Graphics on 10th and 13th of August 2019. Dr V. Prabhu Raja, Associate Head, Department of Mechanical Engineering, PSG College of Technology, Coimbatore and Dr K. S.Vijay Sekar, Associate Professor, Department of Mechanical Engineering, SSN College of Engineering presided the program.
The Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) club of Easwari Engineering College organized paper presentation competition on the topic “Recent trends in renewable energy sources" on 16th August 2019. Around 17 teams from various departments registered and participated in the

One Day Workshop on Building Energy Simulation was conducted on 24th August 2019. Around 40 participants have taken part in the programme. The chief guest of the programme Dr.R.Velraj, Professor, Anna University held the session with core concepts of building energy simulation.
Easwari Engineering College , a unit of SRM Group of Institutions, was established in the year 1996. The department of Mechanical Engineering came into existence from the year 2003. Initially, the annual intake was 30. In tune with the growing demand profile globally for Mechanical Engineers, the intake level was enhanced to 180 in the year 2012-2013. As per Anna university norms, semester system is being followed.
The admission to the first year is done on the basis of ranking of the combined total marks viz., 10+2 mark. In addition, admissions in the second year are done by the Directorate of Technical Education, exclusively for diploma holders, to the extent of 20% of the sanctioned strength, under lateral entry scheme.
The Department has at present well-qualified Faculty Members with various specialization relevant for the industry.
- Right from its inception , the Department has steadily grown in all spheres in terms of: Student strength, physical Infrastructure, number of labs – subject wise, as per the rapid up gradations introduced by AICTE in the recent times and progressive changes in syllabi of Anna University.
